The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began their 2023 regular season defeating the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in Minnesota, with a final of 20-17.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ QB Baker Mayfield made his first touchdown pass to Mike Evans Sunday for a 28-yard score.
Mayfield went 3-for-4 on the successful touchdown drive and came to life after a less-than-stellar start against the Minnesota Vikings.
Chase McLaughlin connected on a 57-yard field goal with 2:13 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 20-17 lead over the Minnesota Vikings.
McLaughlin’s kick was a perfect line drive that sailed through the uprights with plenty of room to spare. The Buccaneers held on to win the game, 20-17.
McLaughlin’s 57-yard field tied for the fifth-longest in Buccaneers history. The field goal was McLaughlin’s second of the game and his longest in the NFL.
The Buccaneers are now 1-0 and and will face the Chicago Bears next week in Tampa.
