A home intruder was trying to find House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when they assaulted her husband Paul early Friday morning, a source told CNN.
The attacker, who San Francisco Police Chief William Scott identified as David DePape, 42, has been charged with crimes including attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, and elder abuse, according to USA Today.
DePape reportedly broke into the couple’s San Francisco residence while the Speaker was in Washington D.C. with her security detail.
The source claimed the intruder yelled, “where is Nancy, where is Nancy?” when they confronted her husband, according to CNN.
