Suspect Wanted In Tampa For Shooting Death Of Woman In February Has Been Arrested

TAMPA, Fla. – Deputies have arrested Keonte Henley, the suspect in the February 21, 2023, shooting death of a woman on the 1200 block of East 139th Street.

Henley turned himself in to deputies on March 14, 2023.

“Now that this suspect is in custody, this case can go through the judicial system,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We hope this is another step in the healing process for the victim’s family.”

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, shortly before 1 a.m., deputies responded to the 1200 block of East 139th street.

When they arrived, they discovered a woman with severe upper-body trauma.

The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

“We are heartbroken for the family and friends who lost a loved one this morning,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister said at the time. “We do believe this is an isolated incident. Our detectives are working to bring answers to the victim’s family.”

Henley was booked into the Orient Road Jail and faces charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Manslaughter with a Weapon.
