St. Petersburg Police Identify Victim In Fatal Jefferson Circle North Shooting, Suspect In Custody

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – t. Petersburg Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning and have a suspect in custody for questioning.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Justin Baumgardner. His next of kin has been notified.

The shooting took place around 1:00 a.m. near 300 Jefferson Circle North. Officers arrived to find Baumgardner suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Detectives have apprehended a suspect in connection with the shooting. The suspect and Baumgardner were reportedly known to each other.
