Suspect Arrested In Pasco County For Running Over Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – William Lewis Jr., 24, has been arrested for intentionally running over Deputy Kalin Hall with his vehicle during a traffic stop. The incident occurred on Friday, July 5th, and left Deputy Hall with serious injuries.

After fleeing the scene, Lewis was apprehended in Pasco County on Monday, July 8th, thanks to the tireless efforts of Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives.

“Our detectives worked tirelessly and with relentless determination to ensure this dangerous and reckless suspect was apprehended,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We couldn’t sit idly by knowing this suspect seriously injured our deputy and then fled without any care or regard for another human’s life. This arrest serves as a testament to our team’s commitment to justice and our community’s safety.”

Lewis is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. He is currently being held without bond. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Deputy Hall continues to recover from his injuries.
