ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a violent armed robbery that occurred last week.
Timothy Gipson Jr., 36, was identified as the suspect in the January 27th robbery of a 65-year-old woman near the intersection of 17th Avenue Southeast and Bay Street Southeast.

The victim was walking in the area when Gipson allegedly approached her, punched her in the stomach, cut her arm with a knife, and forcibly removed rings from her finger with his mouth.
Shortly after the robbery, Gipson pawned the stolen rings at a pawn shop in Pinellas Park, providing his identification in the process. This evidence led to his arrest.
Gipson is charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon or Firearm and Dealing in Stolen Property.
