POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) has arrested 36-year-old Natasha “Sugarbear” Mckenzie after she had been evading law enforcement for an extended period.

According to the PCSO, Mckenzie had an outstanding Polk County warrant for her arrest stemming from a probation violation.

The original charges that led to her probation included:

  • Burglary of a Structure
  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Alprazolam

Deputies reported that Mckenzie failed to make contact with her probation officer, which resulted in the warrant being issued. Despite the warrant, she remained at large.

“Well, Sugarbear must have done something in someone’s Wheaties because the PCSO got a nice tip about where deputies could find her,” said the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on X.

That tip led deputies to a residence on John Street in Frostproof. Deputies made contact with an individual outside the residence, who confirmed that Mckenzie was inside.
