POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A week-long vacation turned into a nightmare for a Mulberry resident who returned home to find his vehicle stolen. However, swift action by local law enforcement led to the quick recovery of the vehicle and the arrest of the suspect.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a Mulberry resident returned home on August 7th to discover his 2010 Dodge Caravan had been stolen during his week-long absence.

The next day, deputies located the stolen vehicle and tracked down the suspect, 36-year-old Inosente Maldonado, to a nearby residence.
Maldonado surrendered without incident after being warned that a K9 unit would be deployed if he refused to cooperate.

He was arrested and subsequently charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.
