MULBERRY, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested two individuals on Friday after recovering a stolen truck and initiating a brief pursuit.
According to the PCSO, a white 2016 Ford F150 had been reported stolen out of St. Petersburg on the morning of Friday, April 4th.

At approximately 3:50 PM, a PCSO deputy observed the stolen vehicle traveling east on State Road 60 near County Line Road.
Deputies tracked the truck and subsequently attempted to conduct a traffic stop when it reached Mulberry. The truck initially fled, but was stopped about one block later.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 40-year-old David Bone of Mulberry, and the passenger was identified as 28-year-old Ruby Barnes, also of Mulberry. Authorities noted that both individuals have extensive criminal histories.

Both Bone and Barnes were arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail.
While Bone was the driver, it was determined that Ruby Barnes was the individual who had stolen the truck.
David Bone was charged with:
- Fleeing to Elude
- Driving While License Permanently Revoked
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Trespassing in a Conveyance
Ruby Barnes was charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. She also had an outstanding warrant from Tallahassee for Possession of Methamphetamine.
