State general revenue tax collections were 8 percent higher than anticipated in April, according to a report released Monday by the Legislature’s Office of Economic & Demographic Research.
The report showed net general revenue during the month totaled about $5.53 billion, $411.4 million more than expected when a forecast was issued in January.
Most of the boost came from corporate income-tax collections and earnings on investments.

Sales-tax collections, which are the biggest part of general revenue, came in at almost $3.4 billion, which was $6.5 million more than anticipated for the month.
