The gay staffer for a Democratic senator who videoed himself having sex with another man in a Senate hearing room is now unemployed.

“Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate,” Maryland Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin’s office told Politico Saturday afternoon.

“We will have no further comment on this personnel matter,” the statement added.

It’s unclear whether Maese-Czeropski was fired or resigned. But it seemed almost impossible he could remain on Cardin’s staff after the video went viral.

As the Tampa Free Press reported earlier on Saturday, the video in question depicts two unidentified men engaging in a sexual act within a room that is believed to be the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing room.

One of the men is seen nude, hunched over the dais typically used by senators during official hearings and witness interrogations. The clip, filmed from the perspective of the other participant, briefly pans across the Senate seal on the wall.

In a LinkedIn post on Friday night, Maese-Czeropski claimed he was being attacked “for who I love” for political reasons, and added that he would “never disrespect my workplace.”

“Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters,” he said.

But that was only part of the woes Maese-Czeropski visited upon Cardin and the Senate’s Democratic leadership.

As reported by the Tampa Free Press on Saturday, Ohio Republican Rep. Max Miller, who is Jewish and an advocate of sending more military aid to Israel in its war with Hamas, confirmed that Maese-Czeropski was the congressional staffer who yelled “Free Palestine” at Miller during his interview with NBC News’ Ali Vitali.

The move was so audacious that Vatali posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Pretty rare and stunning to see staff challenge members to their faces this way.”
