ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The City of St. Petersburg is offering extended hours for residents to pick up sandbags as hurricane season continues. In addition to the regular weekday hours, sandbags will now be available on the second Saturday of each month, including this Saturday, August 10th, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building (1744 9th Ave. N).
Following the distribution of 31,000 sandbags during Hurricane Debby, the city encourages residents to prepare ahead of time to avoid long lines during emergencies.

The extended hours aim to provide greater accessibility and convenience for residents to pick up sandbags and other storm preparedness materials outside of work hours.
Sandbag Distribution Details:
- Location: Pavement and Traffic Operations Building (1744 9th Ave. N)
- Regular Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Extended Hours: Second Saturday of the month, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Limit: 10 sandbags per household (proof of St. Pete residency required)
