St. Petersburg Police Seek Driver In Fatal Crash

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) is searching for Herbert Jones, 26, identified as the driver in a fatal car crash on July 14th.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 13th Street South, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Jeremiah Jones (DOB 1/20/2004). The two men are not related.

SPPD Traffic Investigators determined that Herbert Jones was driving the blue Toyota Corolla that collided with a black Ford Edge, causing the Toyota to roll and eject Jeremiah Jones.

Anyone with information on Herbert Jones’ location is urged to contact the SPPD at 727-893-7780 or send an anonymous tip by texting “SPPD” followed by the tip to TIP411.

Previous Information (July 16, 2024):

A 20-year-old man, Jeremiah Jones, was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on July 14th at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 13th Street South. He succumbed to his injuries on July 15th.

The crash involved a blue Toyota Corolla, occupied by Jones and another man, and a black Ford Edge.

Investigators are working to determine who was driving the Toyota at the time of the crash. The driver of the Ford Edge remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
