ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the City of St. Petersburg is committed to helping residents recover and rebuild.
The city will host two important information sessions to connect residents with essential resources and guidance.

Understanding the “49% Rule”
- Virtual Information Session: Friday, November 8, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Location: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration)
- Focus: This session provides critical information about the “49% Rule” related to permitting and rebuilding after substantial damage to a property.
- Registration: Residents are asked to pre-register and submit questions in advance at stpete.org/rule49.
“Together, St. Pete” – Hurricane Recovery and Resource Meeting
- In-Person Meeting: Wednesday, November 13, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Location: The Coliseum, 535 4th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, FL
- Focus: This comprehensive meeting will feature:
- Updates from Mayor Kenneth T. Welch and city leaders
- Representatives from FEMA, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, and Pinellas County sharing information about financial assistance, recovery resources, and permitting.
- Resource tables staffed by various organizations (available starting at 5:00 PM)
- A program and Q&A session beginning at 6:00 PM
- An opportunity for residents to provide feedback and contribute to future community preparedness strategies.
- Registration: Residents are asked to pre-register at stpete.org/recovery.
