St. Petersburg Man Killed On His Motorcycle By Hit-And-Run Driver, Police Need Your Help

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Police in St. Pete need your help in locating a hit-and-run driver, responsible for a fatal crash on Saturday.

At 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 13, a Honda motorcycle driven by 57-year-old Jonathan Hughes of St. Petersburg, FL., was traveling westbound on 22nd Avenue South in the curb lane approaching 45th Street South.

A white Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by an unknown driver, was traveling eastbound on 22nd Avenue South, in the median lane, attempting to make a northbound turn onto 45th Street South.

The Jeep failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of the motorcycle, causing the crash. The Jeep left the scene of the crash, police say.
