PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 53-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 Sunday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:25 p.m. near milepost 26. The man was driving a Chevy SUV southbound on I-275 when he lost control of the vehicle. The SUV left the roadway, entered the outside shoulder, and collided with a tree.

The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
