PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla – A 42-year-old St. Petersburg man died in a crash around 2:35 am on Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a GMC pickup was traveling southbound on US-19, north of 46th Avenue North, and struck a pedestrian lying in the roadway.
Troopers say it’s unknown why the man was lying in the road.

Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
