ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Firefighters in St. Petersburg battled an early morning residential fire Monday, and thankfully no injuries were reported.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 7900 block of 2nd Ave S for reports of a fire in a home.
Officials say units arrived to find heavy fire from the rear of the house and smoke from the eves.
Two adult occupants were able to recognize smoke in the house and escaped unharmed to call 911.

No injuries were reported throughout the incident.
Crews used large hose lines to extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to neighboring homes.
The Fire Investigator completed gathering data from the scene and is still investigating the cause. The cause is still under investigation.
