St. Petersburg Celebrates Inaugural City Of Performing Arts Month

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – This September, St. Petersburg is showcasing its vibrant performing arts scene with the first-ever City of Performing Arts Month. The city, along with the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and local partners, will host over 40 events featuring diverse genres such as theater, dance, music, jazz, opera, comedy, and poetry.

Celeste Davis, Director of Arts, Culture & Tourism at the City of St. Petersburg, said, “The ‘City of Performing Arts Month’ highlights the eclectic mix of performances that truly capture the essence of our city’s creative energy.”

Participating organizations include the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association, American Stage, The Dali Museum, EMIT, The Florida Orchestra, freeFall Theatre, and many more.

Some featured events include:

  • The Off-Central Players present: David Harrower’s Blackbird, September 5-15
  • Daniela Soledade: Brazilian Dream, September 7 at The Palladium
  • Poetry at the Dali, September 12
  • The Florida Orchestra presents: How to Train Your Dragon – In Concert, September 14
  • American Stage presents: Ring of Fire, September 25-October 20
  • St. Pete Opera presents: Samson & Delilah, September 27, 29, and October 1
