PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed in a collision involving two vehicles while riding his bicycle across Gandy Boulevard on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. near Brighton Bay Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was traveling northbound across the highway when he was struck by an eastbound Toyota Corolla.

The impact threw the bicyclist from his bike, which was then struck by a GMC Acadia also traveling eastbound.
Tragically, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
