ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Two different vehicles have left tire marks damaging the Progressive Pride street mural at the 2500 Central Avenue roundabout in the last couple of weeks, and St. Petersburg Police need your help in identifying the vehicles involved.

Police say the first time was on May 17th, at 9:36 a.m., when a truck accelerated through the mural.

“A more egregious incident occurred on May 22nd, 2:41 a.m. when a blue two-door vehicle spun out doing doughnuts all over the street mural,” said St. Petersburg Police.

Investigators have no reason to believe the incidents are related.

This is considered a criminal mischief felony offense because restoring the street mural will cost the City of St. Petersburg $1100. The City plans to restore the mural in time for Pride month festivities.

Anyone with information on the blue vehicle pictured in the video, please contact the St. Petersburg Police at 727-893-7780 or text SPPD + your tip to TIP411.
