St. Pete Man Dies From Accident, Police Searching for Next of Kin

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Pete Police said that 61-Year-Old Marvin Hardy has died from injuries sustained on September 28th.

A 2017 Dodge minivan, driven by Clearwater resident Stephen C. Sarnoff, 68, was traveling northbound, around 9:40 pm Monday the 28th, below the speed limit, on 4th Street North’s curb lane, when 61-Year-Old Marvin Hardy stepped into the road, froze, then tried to return to the curb.

Sarnoff did not see Hardy and swerved, but the front right side of his minivan struck him. Hardy’s head hit the windshield and he fell onto the sidewalk.

Sarnoff was not hurt and stayed at the scene, but Hardy was transported to Bayfront Health in critical condition.

The victim, Marvin Hardy, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday October 4, 2020 and Detectives have not located Mr. Hardy’s next of kin.
