HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, SR 50 is scheduled to be closed to all traffic at the railroad tracks east of US 301.
The closure is needed to erect beams for an SR 50 bridge over the railroad tracks and is expected to be in place around the clock for approximately 12 days for bridge construction and CSX railroad signal work.

No traffic will be permitted to enter the work zone or cross the tracks during the closure. SR 50 will be open to local traffic only from US 301 to the west of the railroad tracks. SR 50 is expected to reopen on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
DETOUR: Traffic will be detoured using US 301 and State Road 575 / CR 575 (Burwell Road). This is a lengthy detour; drivers are encouraged to plan extra time into their schedules to travel through the detour or consider alternate routes.
