Spring Hill Woman Killed In Crash On Sunshine Grove Road, Two Injured

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A nearly head-on collision on Sunshine Grove Road Thursday evening resulted in the tragic death of a 41-year-old Spring Hill woman and injuries to two others.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. north of Moon Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Honda Odyssey driven by a 35-year-old Weeki Wachee man was traveling northbound when it veered into the path of a southbound Nissan SUV. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on.

The driver of the Nissan, a Spring Hill resident, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old female passenger in the Nissan, also from Spring Hill, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Honda also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
