SPRING HILL, Fla. – A routine traffic stop in Spring Hill turned into a significant drug bust, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on multiple drug charges.
On October 18th, 2024, Hernando County Sheriff’s detectives conducted a traffic stop in the area of Toucan Trail. During the stop, they discovered marijuana, various pills including Alprazolam, and fentanyl residue in plain view.

The driver, Scott Schwirian, and the front-seat passenger were removed from the vehicle. A backseat passenger, later identified as Heidi Reynolds, initially refused to cooperate and exit the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed syringes filled with methamphetamine, marijuana cigarettes, and a locked safe. When detectives attempted to arrest Schwirian, he fled but was quickly apprehended after colliding with a telephone pole.
A search warrant was obtained for the safe, which contained drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a significant amount of methamphetamine.

Reynolds was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Resisting an Officer without Violence.
Schwirian was charged with Resisting an Officer with Violence, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Alprazolam, and Possession of Marijuana.
