Spring Hill Teen Arrested In Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed New York Man

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old Spring Hill resident is facing charges after a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Friday evening.

The incident occurred around 5:02 PM on Lenox Boulevard near Ruby Falls Court. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Cameron John Grosso was driving a BMW 528i southbound on Lenox Boulevard when he struck a 68-year-old pedestrian from Brooklyn, New York, who was walking along the edge of the road.

Grosso failed to stop after the collision and continued driving until he eventually stopped on Maybelle Drive at the intersection with Lenox Boulevard. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Grosso and his two passengers, both from Spring Hill, were uninjured in the crash.

FHP Troopers later arrested Grosso on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal crash and attaching an unassigned license plate to the vehicle. He was booked into the Hernando County Jail.
