HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic accident on US-41 in Hernando County claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Monday evening. The collision occurred at the intersection of County Road 572 around 7:03 PM.
According to authorities, a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 39-year-old man from Weeki Wachee, was traveling northbound on US-41. At the same time, a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a 40-year-old man from Spring Hill, was heading southbound on the same road.

The crash happened when the driver of the Silverado attempted to make a left turn at the intersection, crossing into the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident. The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved.
