Spring Hill Man Arrested On Child Pornography Offenses: Hernando County Sheriff

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A Spring Hill man, 21-year-old Caleb Elijah Sumner, was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into possession and distribution of child pornography.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received information about Sumner’s activities on June 16, 2024, and obtained a search warrant for his residence.

During the execution of the warrant, detectives from the Special Victims Unit found evidence linking Sumner to child pornography.

After being read his Miranda rights, Sumner admitted ownership of two email addresses associated with social media accounts containing child pornography but only confessed to owning one of the social media accounts before requesting a lawyer.

Sumner was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, sexual performance by a child, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He is currently held at the Hernando County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
