TAMPA, Fla. – Spring Break has officially begun at Tampa International Airport. The weeks surrounding March and April are traditionally the busiest times of the year at the airport, with more passengers than Christmas and Thanksgiving combined.
This year, with continued growth in the Tampa Bay area and increased airline capacity, TPA anticipates that the Airport will break the all-time record for the most passengers in a single day.

TPA broke its single-day passenger record last week, with 93,334 passengers passing through the airport on February 25.
According to projections based on airline booking data, TPA could set new all-time passenger records on March 9 and 17, with over 100,000 passengers expected.
During the 38-day spring break travel period, the airport expects to handle 90,000 to 100,000 passengers on Saturdays and Sundays.
