LARGO, Fla. – SPCA Tampa Bay is gearing up to host its annual Clear the Shelters adoption event on Saturday, August 26th. During this special event, all animals listed on the spcatampabay.org website will be available for adoption with no adoption fees.
This initiative is part of a nationwide celebration of pet companionship, and animal shelters are participating in Clear the Shelters adoption events throughout the month of August.
Traditionally, adoption fees for animals at SPCA Tampa Bay range from $30 to $200 or more.
However, on August 26th, all adoption fees will be waived, making it easier for families to welcome a new furry friend into their homes. The animals available for adoption have already been vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped, ensuring their health and well-being.

While the time these animals spend at SPCA Tampa Bay is temporary, the love and companionship they can bring to a family last a lifetime. In addition to the regular adoption event, SPCA Tampa Bay is also offering over 100 small animals and livestock for adoption with no fees through August 31st.
This includes seven potbellied pigs named Bonnita, Squealer, Big Mike, Jimmy Dean, Pickle, Peppa, and Porkahontas. These pigs, who have grown up together, are looking for a home where they can live in pairs or even as a group. They are six years old, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
The Clear the Shelters adoption events have been successful for SPCA Tampa Bay in the past, resulting in a significant number of adoptions each year.
This initiative not only helps animals find loving homes but also raises awareness about pet adoption and the important role animals play in our lives.
As families consider adding a new pet to their household, this event offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on both the lives of animals and their own.
