SPCA Tampa Bay Hosts Dual-Location Pet Walk This Saturday To Support Local Animals

LARGO, Fla. – SPCA Tampa Bay’s 34th Annual Pet Walk is set to bring together animal lovers and their furry friends this Saturday, March 29th, at two locations in Pinellas County: Largo Central Park in Largo and North Straub Park in St. Petersburg.

The event, which aims to raise funds for the organization’s vital programs, invites the community to participate in a fun-filled day celebrating animals. Registration is free online at PetWalk.org, and participants who raise $25 or more will receive an exclusive walker t-shirt.

Both locations will feature a variety of attractions, including local food trucks, pet product vendors, and two walking courses of varying lengths to accommodate all participants and their pets. SPCA Tampa Bay is encouraging individuals, families, and friends to form Pet Walk teams and help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets and injured wildlife under their care.

The funds raised will support SPCA Tampa Bay’s diverse services, which include:

  • Animal Adoption Program: Providing care and matchmaking services for thousands of animals each year, ensuring successful adoptions and thriving homes.
  • Wildlife Program: Offering medical attention and rehabilitation for native Florida wildlife, such as possums, blue jays, squirrels, and rabbits.
  • Community Programs: Assisting pet owners facing financial hardship through pet food pantry networks and monthly community pet vaccine clinics, aiming to keep families and their pets together.

Pet Walk, presented by Veterinary Emergency Group and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, is a crucial annual fundraiser for SPCA Tampa Bay.
