LARGO, Fla. – SPCA Tampa Bay needs the community’s help in supporting shelter animals during the organization’s 3rd Annual Day of Giving Telethon presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and CenterGrid.
This year’s telethon and online fundraising event will be on Thursday, November 10.
Every year more than 7,000 wildlife and pets are surrendered to the For-All shelter. SPCA Tampa Bay’s goal is to raise $120,000 for the medical care and welfare of these animals so they can return to their natural habitat or find their forever home.

For one day only, generous sponsors will match the community’s donations on Thursday, November 10, when they call 844-SPCA-PAW, text “PAW” to 243-725 or donate online at spcatampabay.org.
That means all donations are matched dollar for dollar. For example, $10 becomes $20, $100 is $200, and so on.
How does a donation help SPCA Tampa Bay during the Day of Giving Telethon?
- $5 donation will feed one shelter animal for a day.
- $25 donation will provide an animal’s food, shelter, and medicine for one day.
- $50 donation helps us to assist sick or injured wildlife in our community.
- $100 assists a shelter animal to be spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Of the 7,000 animals in our care, more than 500 are receiving care from our foster families. Plus, while some of the 3,000 animals adopted find their home the moment they are on the adoption floor, others may have an extended stay of weeks or months.
On average it cost $25 a day to care for an animal and that includes food, shelter, and medicine, as well as mentally-stimulating enrichment activities.
