TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers heading south on Interstate 275 in Tampa should be prepared for a ramp closure tonight. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced that the southbound I-275 ramp to eastbound I-4 (Exit 45B) will be closed from 10:00 PM tonight, Monday, January 13th, to 5:00 AM tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14th.
This closure is necessary for crews to perform maintenance work as part of the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.

Motorists will be detoured around the closure by continuing south on I-275, exiting at Exit 45A (Jefferson Street), keeping left at the fork toward Downtown East, turning left onto Scott Street, and then re-entering the interstate using the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
FDOT will have advanced warning signs and electronic message boards in place to guide motorists through the detour.

Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling through the work zone and be mindful of construction workers in the area.
