ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Beginning Monday, May 13, through Thursday, May 16, the southbound I-275 ramp (Exit 21) to 28th Street S. will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

During this closure, southbound I-275 motorists needing to access 28th Street S. will continue south on I-275, exit the interstate using (Exit 19), turn east onto 22nd Avenue S., turn north on 31st Street S., proceed east onto 15th Avenue S. toward 28th Street S.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists should expect delays and congestion during this detour.

This closure is necessary as part of the I-275 concrete pavement repair project from 54th Avenue S. to 5th Avenue S. in Pinellas County. Construction activities are expected to finish in early 2026.
