A super political action committee (PAC) supporting South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott’s presidential campaign released an advertisement, first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, highlighting Scott’s character just days before next week’s second GOP primary debate.

Trust In The Mission PAC (TIM PAC) launched the ad ahead of Wednesday’s second debate in Simi Valley, California, as a part of the previously announced $40 million TV and digital ad buy in the key early primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire, as well as national cable news.

The ad, titled “True Grit,” focuses on Scott’s personal history and life story, arguing he’s the candidate to take on the border crisis, support law enforcement, protect children and other key issues.

“What does it take to be president? True grit,” the video said. “Tim Scott grew up an underdog, worked for everything he has, that’s why we can trust him to finish the wall, crush the cartels, back the blue, bring our jobs home and protect our kids. Tim Scott for president.”

Since Scott entered the Republican primary field in late May, the PAC’s paid media campaign has topped $47 million.

“Sen. Tim Scott overcame tremendous adversity in life to get to where he is today. That’s why voters can trust him to get the job done as president ” TIM PAC Co-Chair Rob Collins said in a statement. “Under Joe Biden, the southern border is out of control, crime is on the rise and parents worry about what their kids are being taught in school.”

The RealClearPolitics (RCP) average for a 2024 national Republican primary, based on polls conducted between Sept. 6 and Sept. 18, indicates Scott and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are tied with 2.2% support, following former President Donald Trump with 57.9%, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 12.7%, conservative businessman Vivek Ramaswamy with 8.1%, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley with 4.9% and former Vice President Mike Pence with 4.1%. All other GOP hopefuls received less than 2% support.

“If Sen. Scott can take his family from cotton to Congress in one lifetime, voters know he can accomplish whatever he sets his mind to in the White House,” said Collins.
