A South Carolina man attempting to sell seafood from his van in the Florida Keys found himself in hot water after authorities discovered a slew of health and licensing violations.

56-year-old Christopher Charles Och of Clover, South Carolina, was cited on Saturday for multiple infractions, including:

  • Failure to maintain proper temperature control: Och’s van lacked a thermometer in the freezer, raising concerns about the safety of the seafood he was selling.
  • Unsanitary conditions: A cat and a litterbox filled with animal waste and cigarette butts were found inside the van, creating a health hazard.
  • Licensing violations: Och was cited for operating without the necessary licenses and invoices required for selling food.
