If you are someone who loves to lend a hand and help others, there is every chance that you have been looking at careers in the care industry to make it official. Earning money while you look after others is what you need if you want to get a good start in the working world. Sometimes, caring for others can be a thankless job, but it’s one that can really appeal to those who want to get stuck in and help. You want a job that’s going to provide you with a sense of satisfaction, and the care world is certainly one that offers it.
The good news is that there is a whole load of jobs in the personal care industry for you to choose from. You can provide a big contribution to society as a result, and it feels good to be involved in it, too. The options are out there for you to look at, you just need to ensure that you know which is right for you. Below, we’ve got six caring careers you can sink your teeth into.
- Teaching. If you want to nurture others, why not consider a career in teaching? Education is such a broad field and it’s one that gives you the chance to give back to others. You can teach children, adults and more and you can choose to be traditional in your methods or not – it’s really up to you!
- Nursing. The best thing about nursing is that it has so many different options. You can be a nurse in a busy hospital or you can choose to be a nurse in a physician’s office. You can be a school nurse, a nurse in an aged care home, a nurse on the ICU and even on the neonatal ward. You have so many different options in front of you and you can care for so many people. You’re a big part of making people feel good – even if they have a doctor and a whole team of others anyway!
- Doctor. If you want to go one further with your education, why not study medicine? You don’t have to just be a physician in a family practice. You could be a surgeon and change the lives of others. You can get involved in the day to day treatment of patients, too.
- Social Worker. The career that brings you to the face of some of the most vulnerable in society is that of a social worker. You could be dealing with abuse cases, children, vulnerable elderly and more. It’s not the best paid position, but it’s a vocation for those who want to really make a difference.
- EMT. Emergency services like paramedics and fire and rescue have some of the best people on their teams. They go out every single day and they risk their lives in the pursuit of helping other people. They respond to people in the most urgent situations – and you could be a part of it.
- Charity Work. If you only have a few hours to spare, consider volunteering your time in a charity!
