CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is investigating a firearm incident that occurred along Airport Road in Inverness, near the Citrus County Fairgrounds parking lot, as the fair was closing on Thursday night.
CCSO deputies, who were already on the scene providing security for the fair, immediately began an investigation.

Authorities have reported that, at this time, there are no reports of injuries or property damage. They believe this to be an isolated incident.
Investigators are actively working to identify the individual responsible for discharging the firearm. Witnesses have described the suspect as a dark-skinned male wearing a black hoodie.
The CCSO is prioritizing the safety of the community and is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
