SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies are actively investigating a reported shooting in the 5000 block of Olivia Road in Venice.
Authorities confirmed that one individual has been transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
SCSO personnel on the scene are focusing their investigation on a single residence.

“This is an active scene. Stay away from the area,” the SCSO advised in a statement.
Further details regarding the victim’s condition, the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and any potential suspects have not been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
