St. Petersburg Shooting Leaves Man In Extremely Critical Condition; Police Seek Leads

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who shot a 20-year-old man on Wednesday evening.

The victim, identified as Anthony Ly, was found with a gunshot wound in a driveway on 16th Avenue South around 5 p.m. He was transported to the hospital and remains in extremely critical condition.

Investigators are trying to piece together what led to the shooting. Ly does not live at the residence where he was found, and police are working to determine why he was there and who shot him.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County at 1-800-873-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Previous Report: Police are investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured in St. Petersburg Wednesday evening.

Around 5 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man down in a driveway at 2814 16th Avenue South. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound.

The injured man, who does not live at the residence, was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including why the victim was at the location and who shot him.
