Shooting At Tennessee Block Party Leaves 2 Dead, At Least 6 Injured

A shooting at a block party in Memphis, Tennessee, resulted in the deaths of two people and at least six injured, according to authorities.

The incident was reported at approximately 7:39 p.m., south of Simons Bank Liberty Stadium, next to Orange Mound Park.

According to the police, up to 300 individuals were attending an unpermitted block party at the time.

According to police, one of the six victims was listed in critical condition.

Investigators first reported that there were 16 casualties in all but later reduced that number to eight after noting that several victims seemed to have been counted more than once.

It was unclear if any arrests had been made. According to authorities, they were investigating what started the violence.
