Brevard County Sheriff's Office Makes Generous Offer to Return Lost Cocaine

Sheriff’s Office In Florida Makes Generous Offer To Return $1.7 Million In Lost Cocaine

A sheriff’s office in Florida is going above and beyond to reunite a suspected drug smuggler with their lost loot: 25 kilos of cocaine, estimated to be worth $1.7 million.

In a humorous Facebook post, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced that the cocaine, neatly packaged and adorned with a scorpion logo, was discovered by a fisherman after apparently falling off a boat off the Brevard County coast.

“All of us at one point or another in our lives have lost or misplaced something important and are always hopeful that a good Samaritan or an incredibly kind person will find our lost item and do the right thing by returning it to its rightful owner,” Sheriff Ivey wrote.

In the spirit of doing the right thing, the Sheriff’s Office is inviting the owner of the cocaine to come forward and claim their property, “with absolutely no strings attached.”

However, there’s a catch. The “no strings attached” offer comes with an all-expenses-paid “staycation” at “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” – otherwise known as the Brevard County Jail.

“So if the 25 kilos of coke belongs to you, all we need you to do is come down to our Criminal Investigative Services building on Gus Hipp Blvd in Rockledge and claim your property,” Sheriff Ivey wrote.

While the chances of the rightful owner actually claiming their lost cocaine are slim, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has successfully used humor to highlight their commitment to fighting drug trafficking and keeping the community safe.
