LUTZ, Fla – On November 19, 1985, the body of Sharon J. Hopper was discovered in the wooded area on the southeast corner of Whirley Road and Van Dyke Road in Lutz, FL. Investigators say the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
Hopper had left her parents’ residence on the evening of November 12, 1985, in Hernando, north of Inverness in Citrus County. Hopper was known to be at Griff’s Tavern in Inverness on November 13, 1985, and she indicated that she would hitchhike to the Tampa area. Hopper’s last known location was at the Pick-Kwik store on Hwy 41 at the Pasco/Hernando County line around 2 AM on November 13, 1985.
