Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire on Saturday around 5:30 pm, according to fire officials.

Several Pets Die In Bradenton House Fire

MANATEE COUNTY, FL. – Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded to a report of a mobile home on fire at 916 51st Avenue West at 4:10 pm on Thursday.

According to fire officials, a total of 4 fire engines, 2 chiefs, 1 ambulance, an Inspector, and the Fire Marshal responded to this call. 

Assistance was also received from Florida Power and Light, Manatee County building Department and Manatee County Animal Services.

Units arrived in under 3 minutes and found the home heavily involved with fire. 

An aggressive fire attack was initiated and coordinated with a search of the home.  A nearby home was exposed to the fire and suffered some damage as well.  The fire was extinguished in under 10 minutes.

The home sustained approximately $60,000 in damage and is considered a total loss.  There were no injuries to civilians or Fire Personnel, but there were, unfortunately, several pets lost to the fire, according to fire officials.

The Red Cross responded to the scene to assist with 3 displaced children and 3 displaced adults.

The cause of the fire was ruled to be unintentional.
