HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Mark your calendars for upcoming events at New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC). Tickets are on sale for the following events and performances.
New Tampa Unplugged
This series is NTPAC’s spin on MTV’s hit show, MTV Unplugged, which aired in the 1990s and early 2000s and featured popular artists of the time performing acoustic sets.
The New Tampa Unplugged series presents acoustic performances from notable Tampa Bay musicians in a unique, intimate way with candlelit cabaret seating. Beer, wine, and cocktails will be available for purchase.

- New Tampa Unplugged: Johnny G. Lyons on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m.
- Johnny G. Lyons, the legendary leader of Tampa’s longtime, good-time, rock ‘n’ roll band sits down for an intimate solo acoustic concert. Lyons has shared the stage with such greats as B.B. King, James Brown, John Lee Hooker, The Outlaws, and many more.

- New Tampa Unplugged: O Som Do Jazz on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m.
- A Brazilian jazz group that captures the spirit of 1960s-70s Brazilian bossa nova, samba-jazz, and baiao. The sextet features Rio de Janeiro singer Andrea Moraes Manson and a crew of Colombian, Brazilian, Mexican, and U.S. jazz musicians playing the Great Brazilian Songbook.
New Tampa Unplugged series tickets are $15 for a table seat and $13 for a theater seat and can be purchased at NewTampaArtsCenter.org/Tickets.
Film Series
This fall, NTPAC presents a Bollywood film series and a children’s film series. Classics from each genre will be screened in NTPAC’s state-of-the-art theater.
- Bollywood Film Series: Devdas on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. (Hindi with English subtitles)
- Kids Film Series: Pixar’s Coco on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m.

New Tampa Players Presents Shrek the Musical, Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29
Shrek the Musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. Tickets available for purchase on the New Tampa Players website.
