In a brief speech marking President Joe Biden’s first year in office, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott slammed the administration for making things demonstrably worse for average Americans.

Sen. Scott: Oblivious Biden Only Offers “More Inflation And Less Opportunity”

U.S. Sen Rick Scott continues to bash President Joe Biden over his inability or unwillingness to tame inflation.

Scott this week released a statement slamming Biden after another Labor Department report showed that costs keep skyrocketing. This time, the report noted that prices faced by U.S. producers were up 10.8 percent for the 12-month period that ended in May.

That was the highest rate in 40 years.

“Joe Biden’s self-made inflation crisis is destroying the nation. He is failing hardworking Americans every single day,” Scott said in his comments.

“The worst part is he has no real plan to fix inflation.”

Counter to the White House narrative about “Putin’s price hike,” Scott added, “Let me make one thing clear: it is Biden’s bad policies that are causing horrible things to happen to our seniors, families and small businesses everywhere.”

“Seniors who spent their whole lives saving for retirement are going back to work so they can pay their rising bills. Moms and dads are getting second jobs so they can afford to feed their families. Businesses are cutting staff and raising prices to keep the doors open,” the Florida Republican continued.

“But Blame-Game-Biden just doesn’t get it. All he’s offering is more inflation and less opportunity. Hardworking families cannot afford another day of Joe Biden; they deserve so much better.”

Scott pointed to some price stats in the Labor Department report. Between May 2021 and last month, the price of eggs was up 185 percent, home heating oil up 117 percent, gas up 66 percent, wheat up 56 percent, and milk up 47 percent.

The Biden administration’s dour report on the economy permitted Scott a second opportunity to trash Biden in as many weeks.

He did so the first time in an op-ed for The Washington Examiner, after the Labor Department announced that consumer prices jumped 8.6 percent year-over-year in May.

Biden, Scott noted, is “heartlessly disconnected from the pain his policies have caused families, and he has no idea how to curb inflation.”

“Biden’s message to America is this: Don’t pay attention to the price at the pump or your grocery store receipt … the economy is doing great, and if you don’t agree, you’re just too stupid to get it,” Scott continued.

“We have a simple choice: more inflation and less opportunity, or less inflation and more opportunity. Joe Biden has made clear that the only choice he’s offering is the former.”
