Sen. Rick Scott recently issued a “travel warning” urging socialists to stay out of his home state of Florida.
Now the Florida Republican is calling on Americans to steer clear of communists on the other side of the globe.
Scott, a frequent critic of the Biden administration, supported a recent travel advisory issued by the State Department about China.
In its announcement, the State Department noted in part, “The People’s Republic of China (PRC) government arbitrarily enforces local laws, including issuing exit bans on U.S. citizens and citizens of other countries, without fair and transparent process under the law.”

“The Department of State has determined the risk of wrongful detention of U.S. nationals by the PRC government exists in the PRC,” the notice continued. “U.S. citizens in the PRC may be subjected to interrogations and detention without fair and transparent treatment under the law.”
“PRC authorities appear to have broad discretion to deem a wide range of documents, data, statistics, or materials as state secrets and to detain and prosecute foreign nationals for alleged espionage,” the statement continued. “Security personnel could detain U.S. citizens or subject them to prosecution for conducting research or accessing publicly available material inside the PRC.”
In response, Scott tweeted on Wednesday, “China is our enemy, and American citizens should avoid traveling to China. The Chinese Communist Party will not hesitate to harass and wrongfully detain Americans.”
Scott has been a frequent critic of China and its policies, as well as the Biden administration’s attempts to placate the Chinese Communist Party.

Last month, for example, Scott criticized President Joe Biden following a Wall Street Journal report about China setting up a military spy base in Cuba.
“This move by Communist China presents grave threats to America’s national security that cannot be ignored. Every American should be up in arms about this. It’s not just spying on the government, which is bad enough; it’s spying on you, seeing your emails and your data,” Scott said in a statement at the time.
“If Biden gives a damn about the security of our country and safety of our people, he will speak on this today … and announce action to push back on Communist China’s unacceptable aggression.”
As The Free Press has reported, Scott also called for an investigation into Chinese “police” setting up shop inside the U.S., and criticized President Joe Biden for selling some of America’s strategic oil reserves to the communist nation.

In another example, Scott joined other GOP lawmakers from Florida in questioning NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about why the league allowed the CCP to broadcast a Chinese New Year message before a Washington Wizards game.
