PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested a Seminole man for multiple counts of possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.
Detectives began their investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that child pornography was being uploaded via the social media/messenger application, Kik.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 27-year-old Blake Schomp.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Schomp’s residence, located at 9624 121st Street North in Seminole. Several images of child pornography were located on Schomp’s cell phone and laptop.
On June 22, 2022, detectives arrested Schomp and charged him with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography and ten counts of Transmission of Child Pornography.
Schomp was transported to the Pinellas County Jail. His booking photo is not yet available.
