SEFFNER, Fla. – A second suspect is behind bars in the murder of a Seffner woman who was sitting in her car when she was killed.
On August 14, 2023, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, arrested another suspect in connection to a murder in Seffner on July 20, 2023.
Phillip Stapleton, 32, was taken into custody for the following charges:
- Principal to Murder in the First Degree
- Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder
Yesterday’s arrest comes after HCSO arrested Aurelio Diaz, 32, for the murder of a woman who was in her car in front of her home on the 4000 block of Orange Street.
“This arrest is another example of the tenacity with which our detectives continue to pursue leads to crimes here in Hillsborough County,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our team works each tip relentlessly to remove any danger they can to the community that we serve.”
