LARGO, Fla. – A Largo Police Department School Crossing Guard was injured in a crash Thursday morning at the intersection of Clearwater Largo Road and 8th Avenue NW.
Around 8:38 a.m., a red 2013 Chrysler 300 traveling east on 8th Avenue NW struck the crossing guard who was assisting a pedestrian across the street.

The crossing guard sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the Chrysler remained at the scene and cooperated with police. They showed no signs of impairment but were issued a citation.
